Today marks one year since you went to your new home. It doesn’t seem like it has been a year but you are missed by all you left behind. I hope you guys aren’t causing problems up there. Love to all y’all

I met Rodger Smith, Sr. when I married his son Rodger D. Smith Jr. Mr. Smith was an awesome father-in-law. I learned a lot when I lived in Texas. I enjoyed visiting with you and your wife and family. Y'all taught me a lot. Y'all made me smile a lot. Just wish I would have taken more pictures.

Uncle/Daddy
You were my uncle first and became more of a father figure to me after my dad passed away. This world will never be the same. I will cherish all the memories of you in my heart. You were definitely the light of the party. I’ll always remember the calls Madee can you baby sit god only knows what animal you had at the time (baby bird, opossum, baby kitten or who knows what ever animal you would rescue),  all the crazy nights  in the wrecker. Or being chased down the freeway in that custom van thinking you were going to kill us. To the wet boat ride to the hotel on my wedding night.  You weren’t just a ordinary uncle. You were truly a one of a kind with the biggest heart.  You were the best. I (we) will forever miss you. This isn’t good bye, but a see you later.

Rodger had a heart bigger then Texas , he's the reason I have my fathers ring . My dad had traded Rodger his diamond ring for a motorcycle Rodger had to fix up . Well dad took the bike all apart to "fix" it and had not put it back together before he died soon after . Rodger knowing that ring was the only thing my father had had to his name , traded me back the ring for the bike "still in in parts "so that I could have my fathers ring . I will forever be grateful  for what he did for me . That's just the person he was . That's just one of the many memory's I will hold dear .

We have known Roger going on 19 yrs. What an outstanding man of great integrity. There was never a day that he didn’t greet you by just a wave or bring me a taco fromstrioes. I told him
Numerous times not to mow my lawn only to come out and see it done. That man would give the the shirt off his back and I have never met a manlike him that treated everyone as if they were his friend. Thats the kind if men we all need in our lives. Going to MISS you my dear friend. Until we meet again. Ride the winds with that Harley and RIP ❤️

Never a dull moment when Rodger was around. He loved his kids and grand kids for sure. But his niece’s and nephews loved Rodger and the crazy thing’s he would do. Tell the rest of the family hello for me . Until we meet again I will miss you. R.I.P.
