Roger “Lynn” Harvey born August 8, 1952 passed away July 2, 2017. He is the son of Edith D. Harvey and Lewis Wesley Harvey. Lynn was married to his wife, Kim E. Harvey for 34 years and has a Daughter, Tonya Lynn Harvey married to Jamie Jones and Son, Wesley Lynn Harvey married to Maggie Harvey. He has two grand daughters, Katie Jones and Harper Lynn Harvey. He spent 40 years in Law Enforcement. Lynn retired from the Harris County Sheriff's Department after a career of 31 years. He was a man of many talents, but he excelled most at being a husband, father and grandfather. Those were his greatest gifts and he was the foundation to his family. Lynn was an avid fisherman, he was a carpenter, a “Master Southern Engineer,” he was the “Grill Master” who loved to spend time with his family and friends. Seldom a evening would pass that Lynn did not have his his lawn chair ready, grill smoking and waiving to neighbors to stop and chat. He loved his vegetable garden and he loved keeping his manicured lawn. He never met a stranger and he always followed the rule “treat me with respect and I will do the same for you.” Never hesitated to extend a helping hand to those in need. Some would say that he was a bit “rough around the edges,” but those that knew him understood that roughness as being his expression of caring about you. If you were lucky enough to have been given one of his many nicknames, you can be assured that he loved and respected you. He was always ready to share his newest joke. Never hesitated to provide “Lynn's words of wisdom” at any given time. He loved spending time in the evenings with his grand daughter Harper, teaching her the names of the stars. He was incredibly proud, intelligent, compassionate, kind, caring, empathetic and enduring. He was a mentor to many. He was loved by many and will be miss by all. There will be a private Celebration of Life with his family and friends in Point Blank, Texas.
