Ronald Steven Williams, age 72, of Willis Texas passed away on Saturday March 12, 2022. Ronald was born in Houston, Texas on November 9, 1949 to Mozelle and Louis Williams. He attended Reagan High School where he met the love of his life Glenda. Whom he married right out of high school on September 21, 1967. They were married for 54 wonderful years. He was drafted into the U.S Army in August 1969 and was stationed in the Black Forest area of Germany. Glenda later joined him and they were able to travel and see such beautiful and memorable European countries, compliments of Uncle Sam.
He returned to Texas and went to work at Southern Pacific Railroad in the shop then eventually went into the engine service. He was a locomotive engineer for several years .For some of you railroad workers you know he took pride in turning in creative time slips/sheets and tried to get every dollar due him.
Ronnie was one of a kind! When a person met him, they never forgot him. He just always spoke his mind and you took him for what he was.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Mozelle (Ray) and Louis Williams. Survived by his wife of 54 years Glenda, his son Brian, his daughter Laura (Mitchell) Osina, grandchildren Cade and Kara Osina. His sisters Teresa Miller, Debbie Hoot and Suzanne (Shea) Robinson, his brother Timothy Williams, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Ronnie had a love for fishing, boating and hunting. He particularly loved bird hunting. Many year’s back he meet a man at an auto auction in Houston and was invited to McAllen, Texas and boy did he accept that invitation! That invitation led to a great friendship with the Ramon family for many years.
Pallbearers are Adam Robinson, Mitchell Osina, Joe Mouzakis, Phillip Dean, Colby Parker and Jeffrey Collins.
Services will be held at Cashner Funeral Home at 10:00 o’clock on Tuesday, March 22nd. Burial will be held the same day at 1:30 pm at Houston National Cemetery.
For those unable to attend services at Houston National Cemetery, the family will be hosting a gathering in their subdivision at the Seven Coves Clubhouse at 2:00 pm. The address is 7021 Kingston Cove Lane, Willis Texas 77318 at 2:00PM.
