Roy was the center of our family and kept us all together and laughing with his quick wit and ways. It was never a dull moment with “Royboy”.
He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps from 1950 to 1953 during the Korean conflict, a time that shaped his enduring sense of duty and resilience. After his service, he built a long and respected career as a commercial and residential painter. He was a dedicated member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, where his craftsmanship and work ethic earned him lasting respect. Roy was also a proud Mason in good standing with Montgomery Lodge No. 25, Montgomery, Texas.
Roy is preceded in death by his father Marvin V. Cook, mother Alma R. Gordon Cook and his only sibling, his beloved brother Johnny M. Cook.
He is survived by his daughter Donnalee Allen and husband Patrick, son Troy (Buzzy) Cook and wife Brenda, five granddaughters, Kimberly Allen Crow, Elizabeth Applegate, Jennifer Nickless, Josie Cook and Laci Cook. Along with eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson. Numerous other relatives and a host of friends also survive.
