Ann attended Baylor University where she majored in English and Secondary Education. She went on to receive her Master’s degree and certification for school administrators. In her educational career of 37 years, Ann encouraged, enriched, and expanded the minds and hearts of many students. In addition to her classroom teaching, she became a counselor where she guided students in their journey. At the time of her retirement in 1992, Ann was an assistant principal at The Woodlands High School.
Retirement did not mean she stopped working. She assisted her husband, Jim, with research on family ancestry creating a grave index for all of Tyler County, Texas. She was an active member of the Montgomery Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, Judge Nathaniel Hart Davis of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Assistance League of Montgomery County and First Baptist Church Conroe.
Ann was an avid reader who graciously shared books with fellow readers. She loved growing flowers. Cooking and baking were her specialties. Even during her last hospital stay, the nurses commented on her sense of humor. She was an encourager to all ages and always had a gorgeous smile with a laugh that warmed the soul.
She is survived by two brothers: James A Crews of Parkersburg, W. VA. and John D Crews of Kerrville, Texas. Two nephews: Rob Crews (Kristen) of Frankston, CO. and Raymond Crews (Dianah) of Bossier City, LA. Two nieces: Dr. Kelly Pelton (Roger) of Kerrville, TX and Tracy Hale (Michael) of Ft Jackson, S.C.
