Sharon L. Barnhill of Conroe, TX passed peacefully from this world surrounded by family into the waiting arms of Jesus on Thursday, September 14, 2023. Sharon was 74 years old. She had been battling Parkinson’s Disease for many years.
Sharon was born to Helen and Edward Jarrell in Pasadena, TX on June 28, 1949. She was the oldest of five children. On May 9, 1969, she married Mack Barnhill and they began a long and loving marriage that lasted over 54 years. She helped Mack through ten years of college and not to be outdone, she completed her degree in only eight years while working and raising three children. She ultimately obtained real estate and brokerage licenses as well.
They started their State Farm agency in July of 1977 and worked for 43 years serving the Conroe community and beyond. Sharon and Mack worked hard at their successful agency while remaining active in church, school, and civic life.
Sharon was a faithful member of the Longmire Road Church of Christ. She became a Sunday School teacher and worked with children of all ages. Sharon had a servant heart and used her gifts to write encouraging notes and entertain missionaries at a moment’s notice. She embodied the mission of being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Sharon’s legacy will be her kind heart and deep love of people. Her husband and children were her whole world and will miss her conversations and laughter.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Mack, her son Bryon and wife Elizabeth of Waco, daughter Shari and husband Wade of Conroe, and son Andrew and wife Stephanie of China Spring. She was also close to her surviving siblings, brother Russell Jarrell and wife Lisa of Plano, sister Donna Hilton and husband Earl of Livingston, and brother Lloyd Jarrell of Conroe along with many nieces and nephews she loved.
The light of her life were her nine grandchildren Matthew Barnhill and wife Kathryn, Thomas Barnhill, Mary Beth Barnhill, Ashley Edwards, Allie Edwards, Avery Edwards, and Wyatt Edwards, Everett Barnhill and Caleb Barnhill.
We would like to thank the Longmire Road Church of Christ for the many years of love and kindness provided by the members. Sharon’s request is that in lieu of flowers, to make a donation to the missions fund at their church.
Graveside services will be held at 3pm on Monday, September 18 at Cashner Funeral Home and cemetery in Conroe.
