

Spencer “Shane” Carter, born December 2, 1959 in Pensacola, Florida, passed away on October 15, 2016 at the age of 56. Shane grew up in Eastex Oaks graduating from Humble High School in 1978. He participated in Future Farmers of America and was awarded Grand Reserve Champion for his pig. At the age of 14, he began working for his father at the family business, Carter’s Paint and Body. Shane moved to New Caney shortly after high school and built his own home. He later became a Millwright, completing jobs at the airport and other facilities. Shane was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish, boat, collect arrowheads and work outside. He was passionate about automobiles and enjoyed repairing and restoring them. He was an excellent handyman. Shane enjoyed spending his weekends and free time with friends and family entertaining, laughing, watching sports and relaxing. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and brother in-law William “Willie” Born. Shane is survived by daughter Angie Hiebert and her husband Joe, son Cody Carter, two grandchildren Jack and Sam Hiebert, father Spencer Carter and wife Bobbie, mother Linda Knight and husband Sammy, sisters Connie Craft and husband John, Belinda Born-Reid and husband Karl, and Rebecca Davis. Shane is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
