Steve was born in Lansing, Michigan, on October 1, 1949, to Dan and Wava Sinclair. He graduated from Chamblee High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Steve married Mary Darline Hunter on October 13, 1968.
Steve worked 43 years for Howco Metals of Houston, Texas (formerly Ducommun Metals and then Carbon and Alloy Metals), ascending from warehouse worker to various management positions, before retiring in 2015.
Steve was a proud veteran of the United States Army, from which he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. Steve was also a beloved deacon of Northside Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas, of which he was a member for over half of his life. He loved golf, bowling, dominoes, and spending time with his friends and family.
Steve is survived by his wife, Mary; two children, Jeff (Stacey) Sinclair, Humble, Texas, and Jennifer (Jason) Whitten, Conroe, Texas; one sister, Mary Jo O’Malley, Elysian, Minnesota; two brothers, Dan Sinclair, Morris, Minnesota, and Jim Sinclair, Havre, Montana; four grandchildren, Jacob Tyler (J.T.) Whitten, Conroe, Texas, Jenna Whitten, Conroe, Texas, Jeffery Whitten, Conroe, Texas and Jaxon Whitten, Conroe, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jana Frost.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Northside Baptist Church, 701 FM-3083, Conroe, TX 77301 beginning at 3:00 pm. Following the service, the family invites guests to remain, as there will be a catered reception in Steve’s honor.
