She was born May 15, 1974, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Dean and Georgie Shoemake. Susan grew up in Charlotte and graduated from Calvary Christian School before attending Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina. In 1996, she met Scott Stone; they were married a short time later on June 14, 1997. Susan devoted herself to being a stay at home mother and raising their sons for 15 years. Susan and Scott moved to Texas in 2010. She loved working with children at Lifestyle Christian School in Conroe. She also enjoyed taking her two sons to all their sporting events whether it was baseball or football and everything in between. Her other hobbies included crafting and adult coloring.
Susan was preceded in death by her father Dean Shoemake and brother Steven Shoemake. She is survived by her loving husband Scott, sons Justin Stone and Dean Stone, mother Georgie Shoemake, brother Robert Shoemake and his wife Laura, nephew Robert Shoemake, II and niece Taylor Hall, along with numerous cousins and extended family.
A Celebration of Susan’s life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Heath Ferguson.
A second Celebration of Susan's life will be held for family and friends in Charlotte, North Carolina, Thursday, February 13, 2020, at 7 PM. Calvary Baptist Church, 2727 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28214 .
