

Thomas Michael O’Gorman, Jr., M.D.Thomas Michael O‘Gorman, Jr., M.D. (Mike) passed away on December 24, 2009 of natural causes with his wife of 42 years and his children beside him. The first of four children, Mike was born in 1941 to Tommy and Ruth Fay O’Gorman in Shamrock, Texas. Three years later, his mother passed away and his father was remarried to Amy Sue Beckett-O’Gorman, who nurtured his love for learning. Mike attended Rice University and The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, earning his Medical Degree in 1966. He did an internship in the Air Force in Biloxi, Mississippi where he met and married Trudy Wilkins in 1967. He served a year in the Vietnam War as a Flight Surgeon. He later moved to Texarkana, Texas where he worked for over 30 years as an Urologist. He and his wife retired to Conroe, Texas in 2007 where he enjoyed being near his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed reading and playing golf. He was predeceased by his father, mother and stepmother. He is survived by his wife; his children, Elizabeth O’Gorman-Compton and husband Brian Compton of Houston, Texas, Sean O’Gorman and wife Kathryn O’Gorman of Spring, Texas, and Tommy O’Gorman of Pittsburg, Texas; his grandchildren, Hayley Adams-Compton, Abigail O’Gorman and Alexandra O’Gorman; his brothers, Kenneth O’Gorman of Sarasota, Florida, Keith O’Gorman of San Antonio, Texas, and Ronald O’Gorman of Mobile, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 2, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, in Conroe, Texas. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 1, 2010 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, please make your donation to Watersprings Ranch, 7707 Sanderson Lane, Texarkana, Arkansas 71854, The Salvation Army, or a Breast Cancer organization of your choice.
