Vernon G West

Vernon and his family moved to Conroe, Texas at the young age of ten. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, collecting Army memorabilia and knives. He and Adlene loved traveling to all 50 states and at least 6 countries. He loved all people and never met a stranger. He especially loved his family and his Northside Baptist Church family. His enjoyed his weekly trips to the grocery store talking to everyone he met along the way.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Ethel Johnson and Velma West, brothers Eddie Lee West, Jr. and Edsel West. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 71 years Adlene West, children: Deborah Hollander, Gale Reagan, and Lesa West (Thomas Mileski), and chosen son, Roy Dupuy (Leslie). Grandchildren: David Corley, Sheila Reagan and Eric Hollander. Great grandchildren: Gage Shewmaker, Magen Hendrix, Justin Hollander, Ethan Bancroft, Devon Bancroft and Tabitha Hollander. Great great grandchildren: Adriana Hendrix, Ayden Hendrix and Winter Shewmaker. Sisters Dorothy Hudson and Joyce Smith (Jerry). A host of nieces, nephews and family also survive Vernon.

Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Graveside services will follow at Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Corley, Eric Hollander, Gage Shewmaker, Justin Hollander, Roy Dupuy and Thomas Mileski. Honorary pallbearers are Deacons of Northside Baptist Church.
