

Vida Erin Lurry Wisnoski, 85, of Conroe, Texas entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 2, 2017 with her family by her bedside. Vida Erin Lurry was born on December 6, 1931 in Winnfield, Louisiana to Hugh Thomas Lurry and Thelma Roberta Seamster Lurry. Vida is preceded in death by her parents, brother, David Alvin Lurry and sister, Lael Elizabeth Lurry Henning. She is survived by the love of her life John Joseph Wisnoski whom she has been together with for over 65 years. She is survived by her sister, Marianne Lurry Hardin. Through devoted faith and endless love they were blessed with son, John Allan (Jan, both deceased) son, Paul Joseph (Dawn); daughter, Erin Elizabeth Bridgeman (Ronnie); daughter, Theresa Anne McDowell (Jim) and son, Bryan Thomas (Jessica). The story continues with grandchildren, Wendy Wisnoski Reed, Mandi Bridgeman Mara, Jason Bridgeman, Brock McDowell, Ashley Wisnoski Miller, Brett McDowell, Katy Wisnoski, John Bridgeman, Shannon Wisnoski, Kayla Wisnoski and Sean Wisnoski. Vida was a RN, BSN graduate from the University of Houston. Her passion took her from one-on-one patient care to clinical instructor inspiring new graduate nurses to have that same compassion for their patients. After retirement, she traveled the world. Her faith led her on pilgrimages to; The Holy Land, Medjugorje, Turkey, Greece, Ireland, Italy and Poland. Vida loved to celebrate life. Family came first for her as a loving spouse and devoted mother, she inspired her faith to all. She had an infectious smile which lit up a room. Vida “Mom” “MeMaw” you will remain in our hearts forever. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Metcalf Funeral Home 1801 E. White Oak Terrace Conroe, TX 77304 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm. The funeral mass will be held the following day Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10:00 am, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 N Frazier St, Conroe TX 77301. A graveside ceremony will be held at 2:30 pm at Resurrection Garden 1310 N. Main (Hwy 35), Pearland TX 77581. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in honor of Vida Wisnoski for God’s Love/Our Mission to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 N. Frazier St., Conroe TX 77301.
