

William Nickolas Cosek, 91, went to be with our Lord and Savior, December 29, 2023. Born William Nickolas McCade Jr. on February 18, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois to Alice Miller and William Nickolas McCade Sr..
He grew up with his brother Theodore. When his mother Alice married Richard Cosek in 1941, he took his stepfather's name, becoming William Nickolas Cosek. Most people just knew him as Bill. After graduating high school, he joined the armed forces. He served a total of 14 years in the National Guard and the US Army. He met and married his wife Darlene Hanks in 1955 and started their family, eventually moving to Texas. He drove a truck for many years, had his own construction business, and retired with Houston’s Metropolitan Transit Authority. He loved playing golf, building things, tinkering with stuff to see how it worked, and being with family.
He is preceded in death by his mother Alice Miller Cosek, his father William Nickolas McCade, his stepfather Richard Francis Cosek, his brother Theodore J. McCade, his sons Dennis “Indio” Cosek and Richard Fredrick Cosek and granddaughter Jennifer Mae Cosek.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Darlene Rose Cosek of New Waverly Texas, his daughter Robin Cosek of Arkansas, his son Scott Cosek of Crosby, Texas, his daughter Penny and her husband Bryant Dockray III of New Waverly, Texas and daughter Patricia and husband Ronnie Rice of Huffman, Texas. Also survived by his grandchildren Micah, Modesty, Senerity, Dana, Justin, TJ, Michael, Katherine, Sierra, Bryant IV, Adam, Brian, and Chessa, along with numerous great-grandchildren, other cherished relatives and friends.
A private celebration of life will be held at later date.
