Bill Tipton was born on April 19th, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Zeke and Cecile Tipton. He is survived by his wife, Diane Tipton; his son, Ty Tipton; his sisters, Nancy Lombard and Patricia McGirl and many nieces and nephews.
Bill attended Lamar High School in Houston, Texas. From 1964 to 1967, Bill served in the U.S. Army as a medical specialist, stationed in Germany. After his service in the Army, Bill married the love of his life, Diane Rhodes Tipton in 1969. He then started a work career alongside his parents at Tipton Company. He later purchased the company and grew it into a successful enterprise. Bill served on the boards of A.I.M.R. (Association of Industry Manufacturer’s Representatives) and W.D.A. (Wholesale Distributors Association), among many other industry organizations. He also invented and patented several products in the plumbing industry that are still in use today.
In addition to his career in the Plumbing Industry, Bill served as a Lieutenant Constable with Pct 4, Harris County, Texas. He was also a licensed pilot, enjoying both business and recreational flying. Bill was also a licensed commissioner in boxing in Texas, managing boxing teams and promoting boxing events. He and his wife Diane established a skilled trades program for juveniles through the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department and mentored many children, teens, and young adults.
Bill was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church while living in Tomball, TX. He was a member of Statesmen Chorus in Spring, TX where he sang in a chorus and in quartets. He was musician at heart and loved to play the guitar as well. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason and a member of San Jacinto Lodge #106 in Willis, Texas.
Bill was known for his outgoing personality, zest for life, and unwavering commitment to helping others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service for Bill Tipton will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Cashner Funeral Home & Garden Park Cemetery, 801 Teas Rd, Conroe, Texas 77303. Chaplain Doyle with Heart to Heart Hospice will be officiating the service. Following the service, there will be a reception at Cashner Funeral Home for family and friends. Floral arrangements can be sent to Cashner Funeral Home in Bill’s name. Donations can also be made to the William V.
