Antonia Maria was a very special person with a strong character and a soft heart --- She was always there to help whenever a situation would arise. She was a pillar of strenght in 2004 when Annette and the children needed her most --- a truly marvelous person.

With the energy of a 20-year old, she would cook and clean all day long - Then she would walk for miles all over Mira Mesa. A truly unique lady that we're all going to miss. God Bless you Maria, Heaven is now a better place because of you.

I remember seeing her walking  to the mall all the time it seemed. No short hike over two miles round trip.  Now when I go for my walks I think of her and marvel how tough she was and I know I am not walking alone her spirit is with me. 

Where to I begin.  So many memories.  We lived next door to Maria  and family for almost 20 years in San Diego.  I don't think I have ever know anyone with so much energy! She walked all around Mira Mesa everyday. She was always  sweeping -  inside and outside. We always joked that she is the only person we have ever know that actually wears out a broom regularly.  She knew everything that was going on in our cul de sac - always watching out for everyone.
She would cook extra of our favorites foods she made and bring them over for us.  So sweet.
She was another Grandma to our kids. She loved them like they were hers.  When they moved away, she always wanted to know what was going on with them.  Always wanting to make sure they were okay.  
Maria was feisty and certainly had an opinion about everything,  and let you know - but that was just a part of her that made her who she was.  She was also very caring and loved her family very much.  She had a great laugh and she always ended our conversations with "Love you guys!"  When she moved to Florida, it sure got quiet around here.
Maria was family, and she will be missed by all of us.  As corny as it is, I know she is in a happier place right now and is watching over us, just like she always did.

I remember your Mom well.  I remember taking her to the casino.  She loved to talk and she loved her family 😢💐

Life has its highs and lows, and it is how you handle them, that determines the person that you are. 
In the face of adversity, Maria always showed her inner strength, in the good times, she showed how great life was.
Surrounded always by a family that loved her. She lived a blessed life, that brought its challenges, but she knew how to persevere.
Now her mission in this world is complete. May she find her everlasting peace and happiness in the great beyond.

I have had so many blessing that I do not think I can count that high. I have been privileged at my age to have had both my parents in my life so long. But early on Wednesday morning  my mom passed away at the age of 78. Those who knew her remember how opinionated she was along with her feisty demeanor. She was the lady always walking up and down Mira Mesa Blvd. In San Diego and fed the ducks in Coral Springs. She loved being out side. Words alone can not express my loss or emptiness but with God's help and all of you I will be ok.I know we will all be together once again. And I look foward to it. But for now my work is not done here. I thank God eveyday for the abundance of family and friends who are there for me. Again from the bottom of my heart and soul my family and I thank you for your out pouring of love and condolences. 
My mom's full name was:
Antonia Maria Salgado Rivera.
Her services are being held at Kraeer Funeral Home on Saturday the 25th of August from 12pm  to 4pm. You are all welcome.
