

Carl Balmir was born in Jeremie, Haiti to Joseph Anthony Balmir and Lucienne Valme on September 7, 1947. He married Marlene Balmir (Paul) on September 21, 1974 in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from State University of Haiti (Université d'État d’Haïti) as Doctor of Medicine in 1974. Following completion of medical training, he practiced as a general practitioner/family physician. He provided compassionate care to his patients in New York and Florida for close to 40 years.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Lucienne Balmir, brothers Wilfrid Balmir and George Balmir and sister Margaret Metellus (Balmir).
Carl is survived by: his wife Marlene Balmir, sons Ralph Balmir, Dr. Carl Anthony Balmir, and Dr. Alex Balmir along with their spouses respectively, Christina Balmir, Kaleigh Balmir, and Annaliese Balmir; siblings Robert Balmir and family, Valentine Balmir and family, Mirnelle Josma and family, Pierre Marcel Balmir and family, Elvire Balmir and family, Fritz Balmir and family, Antonine Balmir and family, Ketty Balmir and family, Adrien Balmir and family, and Jean Eddy Balmir and family; grandchildren Gianna Nicole Balmir and Annabella Balmir.
The visitation will be on Friday January 17, 2025 from 4pm-8pm at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071
Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church 9950 NW 29th St, Coral Springs, FL 33065 on Saturday January 18, 2025 at 10am. Burial to follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery 1500 S State Rd 7, North Lauderdale, FL 33068.
The family of Dr. Carl Balmir would like to extend sincere gratitude to Ronald Cesar, Harold Cesar, Marianne Cesar, Dr. Clotilde Balmir, Hirmice Balmir, Franz Balmir, Jean Gaston Dumas, Aurore Charles, Milliere and Junie Jean, Dr. Leon Paul and the Paul Family, as you all have provided immense support in this time of grieving.
