Edwight Joseph Douge

Born on June 15, 1959, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Edwight was the beloved son of Herbert and Myrika Douge. He grew up in a home filled with faith, strength, and family, and attended school in New York. On December 28, 1982, he married the love of his life, Genevieve, in Brooklyn, New York. Together they built a beautiful family, rooted in devotion, generosity, and joy.

Edwight graduated from Erasmus Hall High School and dedicated 20 years of service to the U.S. Postal Service as a postal clerk. Beyond his work, Edwight lived a life of service, active in his church as an Emmaus brother and a devoted coach in community soccer and basketball. He touched countless lives with his gentle spirit, patience, and unforgettable smile.

Edwight was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Myrika Douge, his brother Harry Douge, and his sister Marlene Douge Paillere.

He is lovingly survived by his cherished wife, Genevieve Douge; his children, Edwina Douge, Christopher Douge and wife Nicole Douge; his siblings Myrtha Dessources, Guy Douge, Herbert Douge, Gladys Bernier, and Guerda St. Cyr; his treasured grandchildren Nyah Pelissier, Dilynn Douge, Jada Limage, Riley Douge, Gabriel Limage, Mason Limage, and Levi Limage, each of whom brought immense joy to his life; an abundance of nieces and nephews he loved dearly; and his best friend through life Michael "Mike" Bernard.

A visitation will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, located at 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, FL, 33071-6026, on December 19, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A celebration of Edwight’s life will take place at 10 am on Saturday, December 20th at St. Andrews Church, 9950 NW 29th St., Coral Springs, FL 33065. The repass will follow at Kraeer Funeral Home - Coral Springs located at 1655 N. University Drive Coral Springs, FL 33071.

The family of Edwight Douge extends heartfelt gratitude to all medical staff who cared for him and supported his peaceful transition.
