

Frances Ann Romanello (Barbarite) passed away May 4, 2017 at the age 90. She was born on July 11, 1926 to Rose and Joseph Santostefano. Fran learned and developed her great skill as a seamstress from her parents who were tailors. In 1944 she married Vincent Peter Barbarite. She and Vincent raised three wonderful children: Robert, MaryAnn and Joseph. Later she worked as a teller at Chase Manhattan Bank.
In 1979 she brought her great talents to Florida where she helped launch the medical practice of Robert V. Barbarite, MD and where she worked for 28 years.
She married Anthony (Tony) Romanello in 1982. She was blessed with loving grandchildren: Gabrielle Debortoli (Barbarite), Barbara Barbarite, Vincent Anastasia, Jennifer Barbarite, Eric Barbarite and Nicole (Rosie) Barbarite.
Fran was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend.
Fran had many talents and hobbies. She was an accomplished seamstress who made countless baby gifts, baptism and communion outfits. She was originator of the “Gummy Dress”. She was an expert baker and cook. Her meatballs were sought after by family and friends with and without G.
Fran was very fashionable with great style and beauty. She had a passion for shopping. For many years she and MaryAnn had a standing Saturday shopping date to stay current on the fashion trends.
In 2015 Fran moved to Brookdale (now Sonata) Assisted Living. Under the tender loving care of Olga and Sharon she maintained her grace, beauty and shopping.
She is survived by Robert (Mary)Barbarite, MaryAnn( late Patty) Anastasia, Joseph (Susan) Barbarite and grandchildren: Gabrielle, Barbara, Vincent, Jennifer, Eric , and Rosie.
Friends may gather at the KRAEER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, Florida on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM., Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 AM., Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 1401 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs, Florida .
