Frank A. Squillante (Cheech) passed away peacefully in Tamarac, Florida on Monday, April 17, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease at the age of 92. Frank is survived by his loving wife Sue (Mineo) Squillante of 71 years, his daughter Janis and son-in-law, Frank Bonilla of Danbury Connecticut, son Michael and daughter-in-law Janet Squillante of Coral Springs, Florida and son Frank and daughter-in-law Lisa Squillante of Highland Mills, New York. Also nine grandchildren, Matthew, David, Lindsay, Jennifer, Tarin, Ashley, Frankie, John and Lauren. Eleven great grandchildren, two sisters, Anna Bonelli, and Gilda and her husband, Joe Tartaglione, and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Frank was born in Harlem New York City the son of a proud Italian immigrants in 1930. Frank served in the United States Armed Forces during the Korean War and married his high school Sweetheart Sue in 1951. Frank became a proud New York City Correction Officer and worked at the Bronx House of Detention and several Rikers Island Jail facilities.
Frank was the person who went out of his way to help people regardless of their situation in life. Frank was the person who "lit up a room" when he entered and had a bigger than life personality. Everyone but especially friends were sure of a good time when they were with Frank because Frank put others first and if you were his friend you were a friend for life. Frank always put his family first, he loved them unconditionally with all his heart and was very very thankful and proud of his many blessings.
Frank is physically gone, but will never be forgotten and will always be watching over his family, friends and loved ones from above.
