

Giulia was born in Catania , Italy to Guglielmo and Antonietta Caruso on May 22, 1926. She went to school in both Italy and Asmara, Ethiopia. She married Albert Kanner on February 9th 1946 in Naples, Italy. She worked as a millinery designer, retailer and boutique manager for Talbert Inc., where she was known as Mrs. Talbert for over 50 years. She received recognition for her hat designs at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute, and was passionate about her many creative hobbies, and celebrated by FAU University for her accomplishments as an example of successful immigration to the US.
Giulia’s is preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert, and her sister Rosetta, brother Carlo and parents and relatives in Italy.
Giulia is survived by her daughter , Giulianella her son-in-law Mauro Monteleone, her niece Paola and husband James Buckley, their wonderful children, Laura, Jimmy, Julia, Andrew and Lizze, as well as her cousins Patricia and Vincent Osteria, John and Elzilda Rohan, and Ronald and Kim Fanta.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on May 3rd at 2 pm. As per her wishes the family will scatter her ashes at sea and a portion will be placed with her beloved Albert in the National Veterans Cemetery in Long Island, NY. A toast to this special lady at our home at 4 pm on the 3rd at 7581 Granville Drive, Bld F, Apt 405.

The family of Giulia wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her Dr.’s at the Cleveland Clinic, the hospice Vitas organization and all the persons who have been so close to our family at this time.
