Jim is survived by his sister, Pat O'Brien, of Massapequa, New York and his brother Jack Brady of Plattsburg, New York. Jim is also survived by his children Sharon Kunik, Jim Brady, John Brady, Scott Brady and Ken Brady and their families. Jim was the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Jim was born on April 10, 1935 to John and Rosina Brady. Jim married his sweetheart, Nancy Snodgrass on November 24, 1956 in Silver Beach, New York. Jim was a Corporal in the National Guard and US Army Reserves. Jim was and awarded Sharpshooter status with a carbine as well as a rifle. Jim joined the New York City Police Department and advanced to becoming a Gold Shield Detective Second Grade. After 21 years of service with the New York Police Department; Jim retired and relocated to Margate Florida where he served as a Special Agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Jim volunteered his time coaching his son's soccer and baseball teams. Jim loved to golf and enjoyed soccer. Jim volunteered for many years at the Honda Classic. Jim was gifted a plot of land in Scotland and on March 11, 2020 became Lord James Brady.
A memorial service for James will be held Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071, the Catholic Vigil Service will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jim's life.
