John F. Morrison Jr.

Devoted husband who survived his wife Marie Lynch Morrison.

Loving father to Scott, Robert, Duncan and their respective families.

Our father went to St. Lawrence University and graduated in 1950. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He majored in Chemistry and also learned German. Son Scott followed in his footsteps and graduated from St. Lawrence in 1979, was in the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and majored in Geology.

John served in the Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged from that service.

John F. Morrison Jr. married Marie R. Lynch on December 2nd 1955 at The Pauline A. Hartford Memorial Chapel in the Presbyterian Hospital in NYC.

John and Marie raised three boys in Towaco New Jersey, where later John became an active member of the local board of education. During his time on the education board, he was a key figure responsible for building a new high school.

John began his career with Western Electric in New York City and spent some memorable times working on the D.E.W. line (Distant Early Warning) project in Alaska. The majority of his professional career was spent primarily in executive business management for divisions of AT&T Bell Laboratories in New Jersey. Son Duncan followed in his footsteps here and worked for AT&T the early part of his career.

John was a long time resident of NJ until relocating to Florida after the passing of his wife. He loved watching the ocean from his second floor home at The Sea Club in Hillsboro Beach, FL.

John enjoyed the beautiful sights and unique cultures and customs that he and his wife Marie experienced together in several different countries.

Throughout his life John enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies. These included hunting, fishing and the outdoors in his early adulthood. Later in life he moved to enjoying automobiles, was an avid reader, wood-worker and clock builder. He loved a good pizza with a glass of red wine also Michele Morrison’s homemade chocolate chip cookies.

He will be missed, and remembered by friends and family.
