Marc was born on March 17, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio to Robert Swanson and Ilene Martin Swanson. He graduated from Garfield Heights High School in 1969. After graduation he took a job at Joslyn High-Voltage as a maintenance technician, and then worked for the railroad. Marc did not like the cold weather, so he followed his retired parents to Florida. Marc began his career in law enforcement as a police officer with the Coral Springs Police Department and retired as a Sergeant Detective in 1995. He then served as an Investigator with the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office and as an Investigator with the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Florida.
Marc is predeceased by his parents Bob and Ilene Swanson. Marc was a devoted husband to his wife Jodie, a loving father to Dale (Brittany), Jillian (Pedro), and Tiffany, and a cherished grandfather to Tyler, Riley, Gemma, and Isaiah. He always found joy in spending time with his family. He was a man of great integrity and always put the needs of his family first. Known as generous, kind, hard working, funny, and a great “weatherman,” Marc will be deeply missed by family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 18, 2025 in the NextGen building of Community Christian Church: 10001 W. Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL 33351.
Following the service, we will gather at the Swanson home to share some of our favorite memories, our stories, to laugh, to cry, and remember a wonderful person who is greatly missed.
