Marylin was born on October 21, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph Friscia and Teresa Cermenello. She graduated from Levittown Memorial High School in 1957. Following graduation, she began working in Manhattan as a secretary. She loved Elvis Presley and attended many concerts even almost meeting him at one! Marylin and Raymond Peter Deeken welcomed four children into the world and raised them lovingly. Her children will remember her as a kind mother who was always there for them.
Marylin was accomplished at baking and often baked many goodies for her children and grandchildren. Some of which most cherished are her New York cheesecake, peanut butter pie, and chocolate layer cake. She had a sweet tooth and always had a butterscotch sucker in her purse. She loved celebrating Thanksgiving with her family and passing down her prized stuffing recipe (don’t forget the THYME!) to the next generation. She loved to read and shared that love of reading with her grandchildren by encouraging them to accompany her to the library. She never left the house without her coupons! She deeply loved her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow.
Marylin is survived by her children, Desiree (Frank) Guiliano, Raymond Deeken, Deneen (Paul) Colletti, and Douglas (Kristin) Deeken; grandchildren, Frankie (Paige) Guiliano, Billy Guiliano, Jessica (Daniel) McTeigue, Theresa (Tyler) Kins, Nicole Colletti, Skyler Deeken, Nicholas Deeken, Hailee MacKenzie and Quinn Reed; great-grandchild, Parker Guiliano; sister, Annette (Frank) Sequino of New York; and brother, Joseph (Karen) Friscia of Pennsylvania, along with several loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Friscia and mother, Teresa Cermenello, of New York.
