

Nigro, Patricia Anne, 74, of Coral Springs, passed away August 10, 2014. Patricia was born September 5, 1939 in Greenwich Village, New York to the late William and Florence (Ray) Gillen. Patricia met her husband on a blind date. They dated for three years and when he was discharged from the service, they tied the knot on April 30, 1960. She attended Fordham University, but graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University before furthering her education at Barry University and graduating with a Masters Degree in Social Work. She and her family moved to Coral Springs in 1970 when the population was appoxiamately 1000 people. She was employed until her retirement in 1994 with Coral Springs Medical Center. She was a member of Friends of Music and she enjoyed bridge, reading, crossword puzzles and of course The Beatles and Paul McCartney was her favorite. Patricia was predeceased by her brothers, William Gillen and Robert Gillen. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 54 years, Alfonso, sons and daughters-in-law, Peter (Donna) Nigro, Joseph (Carolyn) Nigro, Andrew (Kelly) Nigro, grandchildren, Grant, Emma, Jake, Nicole, Andrew Jr., Maxwell, William and Nathaniel Nigro. Her nieces, Florence Gillen and Michelle Gillen, also survive her. Memorial Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am.,, October 13, 2014 at Church by the Glades, 400 Lakeview Drive, Coral Springs, Florida in the Evans Chapel.
