Paul Anthony Stein died peacefully on Saturday, January 08th, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Virginia, father of Cynthia and Melanie, grandfather to Christian and Kaitlynn, and friend to so many. Paul will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
A Coral Springs, Florida resident since 1992, Paul Stein was born on July 26th, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York to Anna Venezia and Karl Stein, one of four children. He graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School in 1961 and served in the United States Air Force for four years. Paul was stationed overseas at Bremerhaven, Germany and honorably discharged from Kelly Air Force Base, San Antonio Texas. Shortly after, he began working for American Express, where he worked for 37 years until retirement.
In 1976, he married Virginia Armato and they welcomed Cynthia and then Melanie, their two daughters. They raised them in Richmond Hill, New York, and then relocated to Coral Springs, Florida in 1992. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Christian and Kaitlynn. He was extremely proud of them and absolutely adored them. Christian will be graduating college in the spring, and Kaitlynn will be entering college in the fall. We know he will be keeping an eye on them from up high as they continue their journeys through life.
Although he dabbled in stamp collecting, his true passion was collecting coins; it provided him great joy and interest over the years of his life. Paul lived a quiet but full life and was a man of uncomplicated tastes. He was devoted to his family, his friends, his country, and the second family he found with his American Legion brothers and sisters.
A military service will be held in his honor on Thursday, January 27th, at South Florida National Cemetery. If you wish to attend the service arrive no later than 12:45pm; service begins promptly at 1pm.
