Samuel “Bad Sam” Bittar Jr., a dedicated servant to both his country and community, passed away peacefully on 4/13/24 at the age of 81. He leaves behind a legacy of valor, honor, and unwavering commitment.
Born on May 23, 1942, Samuel embarked on a life of service early on, joining the United States Marine Corps straight out of high school. During his many years of faithful service, he exemplified the Marine Corps values of honor, courage, and commitment. His dedication to duty took him to far-flung corners of the globe, where he served with distinction, earning numerous commendations and accolades for his bravery.
After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Samuel continued his calling to protect and serve by joining the New York City Police Department. As a transit officer, he upheld the principles of justice and integrity, making a positive impact on the lives of countless individuals within his community. His selfless devotion to maintaining law and order earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community alike.
Samuel is survived by Patricia Bittar, 4 children, Patricia, Lisa, Thomas and Chris, many grandchildren and a host of other loving family members and friends. His memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
