Tonie Louise Shrouder

2021 in Coral Springs, Florida at the age of 84 being surrounded by her family. Tona is survived by

her five children, James J. Shrouder, Jr. of Pembroke Pines, FL; Armand Shrouder of Ocala, FL;

Joseph V. Shrouder of Coconut Creek, FL; Tona Morongell of Coral Springs, FL and Dean M.

Shrouder of Pembroke Pines, FL. Tona is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years

James “Chick” J. Shrouder, Sr.; her devoted parents Armand Walterson and Mary Joseph “Marty”

Walterson and her sister, Gloria Crisante.

Tona was born on June 15, 1937 in Miami, Florida to Armand and Marty Walterson. She attended

Miami Edison High School. She grew up in Miami and Tona married Chick, a cabinet maker, on

December 2, 1953. Soon thereafter the couple welcomed five children into their home and Tona set

about loving, teaching, and nurturing them. They then moved to St. Cloud, Florida until she relocated

to Boca Raton, Florida two years ago after the passing of her husband. She will be remembered as a

kind and gentle homemaker and mother. Tona has left quite an extensive and wonderful legacy of

thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She will continue to inspire us for years

and years to come and we will strive to honor her memory by living our lives to the fullest. She will be

remembered and remain in our hearts forever and she will be dearly missed. We know she is now

resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in Heaven.

Tona loved the Lord and attending her Bible study. She was a Christian and a member of the

Crossbridge Baptist Church in Boca Raton, Florida. Tona was a woman of wisdom and always

available with a listening ear, a positive word encouragement or a prayer. Tona thoroughly enjoyed

her life and took great pride in her home. Perfection was the name of her game with all her endeavors

and hands down she could have been a home organizer. As every season of the year and holiday

rolled around her creativity showed through and she would decorate her home accordingly which was

so beautifully done. Tona filled her time with so many hobbies including cooking, sewing, gardening,

flower arranging, crafts, decorating and last but not least shopping. Tona would continually be on

the search for a new ensemble which definitely had to include the shoes, purse, and accessories.

Tona loved spending time with her family and always ready to go when it came to dining out at new

places.

A funeral is scheduled for Sunday, November 14, 2021 @ 11:00 at Kraeer Funeral Home 1655 N University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071 with a reception to follow. Her nephew, Michael Crisante, Jr. will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tona’s life. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Broward Health - Coral Springs and Vitas Hospice Care for their efforts, care, and dedication.
