Served his Country in the military as a Peacekeeper.

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on October 30, 2016 at the McConnell Site of the Cornwall Community Hospital. Mr. Adrien Poirier of Cornwall; age 82 years. Beloved husband of the late Gisèle (nee Lamoureux). Devoted father of Annette Pilon (Raymond), Paul Poirier (Linda) and Claire Caine (Richard). Loving grandfather of Justin Pilon, Jacinthe Martin (Joel), Christian Poirier (Natthika Saengraksawong), Zacharie Poirier, Neil Caine and Nicholas Caine. Adrien will be greatly missed by his family. Dear brother of Reg Poirier (Beverly Poirier), Jeaninne Touchette (the late Hubert Touchette), Eileen Bookout (the late Keith Bookout) and Georgette Desrosier (Yvon Desrosier), Brother-in-Law Aubrey Gadbois. Predeceased by his parents Donat and Eva (Brunet) Poirier, by sister Anita Gadbois and by brothers Lionel and Laurier (Diana Poirier).

Resting at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, East Branch, 614 First Street East (613-933-2841) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 9 am until time of Funeral Mass.

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are invited to assemble for a Legion Service on Thursday at 7:15 pm. Funeral Friday, November 4, 2016 for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter's Church at 11 am. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery.
