Dawn J. Levac

Levac, Dawn J. - Passed away on Monday November 25, 2024 at age 76. Survived by her loving husband Donald, children: Shawn (Rose-Anne), Shari (Jen), siblings: Clifford (Bibianne), Marlene (the late Bill), Anita (the late Gerald), Joan (Raymond), daughter-in-law Kylie, grandchildren: Casey, Trevor, Rylee, Oliver and dear family friend Tracy. Predeceased by her parents: Harvey and Effie (Kyer) Tessier and her youngest son, Shane.

Everybody who knew Dawn remembers her kind, compassionate heart and her willingness to help others. She was the first one to help-whether with a ride, a conversation or her time. When her mother was placed in a nursing home, she visited every day for eight years - always the caretaker.

We cannot forget her love of cats. The family often joked of the “cats always welcome here” sign on the front lawn that only cats could see. Sorry to report, that cat motel is permanently closed. However, that duty has been carried on by her children.

Even when Dawn was no longer herself due to Alzheimer's, she still won over the hearts of her care team. A heartfelt thank you goes out to her caregivers at Heartwood Long Term Care facility.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, East Branch, 614 First Street East (613-933-2841) on Friday December 13, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Alzheimer’s Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the OSPCA in Dawn’s name would be greatly appreciated by family.
