Gilles J. Brisson

Beloved husband of Shirley Brisson (née Rousselle) of Cornwall for almost 71 years.

Loving father of Helene Brisson-Wertwyn of Ottawa, Debbie Lauzon (Robert) of Cornwall and Jaromey Menshal of Texas, USA. Treasured grandfather of Emanuel, Genevieve, Alex, Kim, Gabrielle, Kybor, and Jud. Proud great-grandfather of Kiera, Jake, Alex, William and Samuel. Dear brother of Jacqueline Bigras (Ray) of Ottawa. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and family friends.

Predeceased by his parents Alvarez and Rosa (née Lapointe) Brisson, his brothers Rolland Brisson (late Adeline), Fernand Brisson (late Simone), Paul Brisson (late Marguerite), Raymond Brisson (late Rhea), Rudy Brisson (late Florence) and his sisters Juliette Filion (late Edmour), Gertrude Belanger (late Yves-Marie), Noella Brisson, Yvette Lafrance (Paul) and Yollande Charron (Alphonse).

Gilles will be remembered by his love for his family, his sense of adventure, love of the ocean, the tropics and sailing. He worked as a Contractor most of his life, after a few years in the Navy. He was a joker, who loved to play pranks. Yet a kind soul who would give his coat to a homeless person. A very well self-educated man, who could speak on many topics which he loved. He has had an impact on many of us in his 94 years.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements under the care and direction of Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home, 614 First Street East Cornwall, ON (613-933-2841).
