The family of Kenneth Robertson, of Cornwall, announces his death on Friday, February 26, aged 91 years.
Beloved husband of 65 years to Anne (nee Cass,) loving father of Bruce (Monique,) Gordon (Queenie,) and Mark. Predeceased by his parents Nora and Charles, and his sisters Ruth (Harold Campbell,) Lois (Gordon Marrotte,) and Marjorie (Vincent Lafleur.) Ken Robertson had a great run at life. The encore to his eventful life was a surprise 91st. birthday party, hosted by his good friend André. Seventeen friends, armed with Coke, chicken wings, cake, and ice cream were in attendance. Ken was synonymous with golf in Cornwall. He was dedicated to the game, and played from the age of 10 to the age of 90. He played at the Chaudière Golf Club from 1947 to 1949. He then became a member of the Cornwall Golf and Country Club from 1950 to 2016. During this time he served as Club President in the sixties and seventies. The club was Ken's second home and he passionately served its members well over the years. Ken was also a great golfer who won many tournaments, including three club championships. He managed 5 and 1/2 holes in one during his lifetime of golf and was inducted into the Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame. Ken played his last round of golf in May of 2015 in his 91st year, as an honorary club member. Kenny had a creative side and was considered a master at writing limericks. He also contributed a story to the Chicken Soup for the Golfer's Soul book. Ken also had a great mind for numbers. He kept this aptitude finely tuned by solving Sudoku puzzles daily and never missing an opportunity with his friends at the bridge or poker table. Kenny will be missed by all who knew him.
