William D. Greffe

Beloved husband for 56 years to Charlotte (née Levaque), William was a loving father to Kathleen Greffe (Gordon Ellis) of Long Sault and Elizabeth Bissonnette (Nick) of Ingleside. As a proud Pops, he adored his grandson, Martin Bissonnette. William was also a dear brother-in-law to Catherine Barette and a cherished uncle to Normand Barette. He was predeceased by his parents, William J. Greffe and Ethel (née Harrington).

An adventurous soul, William found joy in traveling by car, whether it was his Del Sol Honda or RV, and he delighted in planning long road trips. His love of learning was reflected in his commitment as a teacher in the public school board, separate school board, and Akwesasne school board, where he inspired many.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Marlborough 4, Long Sault, for all the care and compassion they have shown to William.

The family will be in attendance at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home East Branch, 614 First Street East (613-933-2841) from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday February 1, 2026.
