In loving memory, Allen Dale Rodgers, a devoted husband, father, educator, and man of unwavering faith, went home to Jesus on July 22, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in East Prairie, MO, Allen lived a life guided by his love for Christ, his dedication to his wife and family, and his passion for shaping young minds through education.
On June 12, 1993, Allen married the love of his life, Suzie Rodgers. Together, they celebrated over 30 years of marriage. Allen created a sacred space of love, compassion, and understanding. He chose Suzie every day and committed to taking care of her; their love was something greater together.
Allen embraced his role as a loving father to Michael Peak, Michelle Moreno (Jesse), and Melissa Morando (Joaquin III), and found joy in being a grandfather to 11 grandchildren, Joshua Postema, Raquel Peak, Kira, Kaiya, Joshua, and Joaquin IV Morando, Blake Avila, Brandon and Clarissa Moreno, Savannah and Connor Peak; and five great-grandchildren, Jane, Roland, Christian, Edward, and Lily Postema.
Allen was a faithful member of Suncrest Christian Church, where his strong faith in God was evident to all who knew him. Throughout his life, he shared this faith with those around him, living as a testament to Christ's love. Allen joins his parents, Woodrow and Bertharean Rodgers, and brother, Wayne Rodgers, in Heaven. He is survived by his beloved wife, Suzie; his brothers, Doyle and Gene; and sister, Caroline Greanneau.
After graduating from Purdue University's School of Education with a bachelor's degree, Allen answered his calling as an educator. For many years, he inspired junior high students through his teaching of Language Arts, Social Sciences, and Biblical Studies. His classroom was a place where young minds were challenged, encouraged, and shaped by his unwavering passion for education.
Allen served in the Army, Navy, and the Marine Corp and proudly served in the Vietnam Veteran War for two tours of duty. He treasured his marriage to Suzie, and time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed going on Disney Cruises with his wife, loved reminiscing over his family photos, listening to his oldies, but goodies, sharing stories about the military, and he loved fishing.
Allen leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and strength. As a man of faith, he demonstrated what it meant to live with purpose and hope. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
A celebration of Allen's life may be held at a later date for family and friends. In keeping with Allen's wishes, memorial contributions may be made payable to Susan Rodgers in lieu of flowers.
Allen’s favorite bible verses: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 and "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:17
