Bruce O. Burgess of Monticello, IN, passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2025. He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 50 years, Judy Burgess; his children, Christy (Chris) Bozic, Lisa (John) Mason, and Nathaniel (Erin) Burgess. Bruce was adored and will be deeply missed by his wonderful grandchildren, Meghan, Brandon, Hannah, Noah, Jack, and Rylee; as well as his great-grandchildren, Skyleigh and Lexi.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) Burgess; his mother, Ruth Burgess; and his sisters, Bonnie Lemaster and Deattea Bailey.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Inland Steel after 33 years of dedicated service to USW 1010. An avid outdoorsman, Bruce enjoyed golf, hunting, and fishing. His greatest love was God, closely followed by his family, friends, and music.
Visitation will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307 on Friday, January 10th, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A private burial will take place on Saturday, January 11th. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to your local Hospice.
