Bud J. Smith

Bud was born September 5, 1928 in Ennis, Kentucky to the late Zollie and Ethel (Adkins) Smith. Also preceding him in death are his loving wife, Evestil (Cartwright) Smith, for over 56 years; 10 siblings including a his twin sister, Lois "Sis".

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Larry (Dorothy) Smith; grandchildren, Valerie Smith, Lisa (Michael) Holland, Nicholas Smith, great grandchildren, Gianna and Alivia, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bud and his wife, Evestil, came to Northwest Indiana in the early 50's from Kentucky to raise their family. He worked for Standard Forge Steel, after 22 years of service, and retired from LTV in East Chicago after over 30 years of service. He was a member of the United States Steel Worker's Union and Moose Lodge. He was an impeccable family man, that adored his grandchildren, had a strong work ethic, and was an avid hunter.

Visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 10:30 am. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. To leave online condolences, please visit www.chapellawnfunerals.com
