Dennis K. Shepherd, age 64, of North Judson, formerly of Schererville, passed away June 15, 2014 at Indiana University Healthcare Center of Knox, IN. Dennis was born December 11, 1949 in Lake City, TN to Oatha Shepherd and Ethel (Roach) Gentry. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Tennessee. Also surviving is his daughter, Denise (Jim) Agardy; and his grandchildren: Laura and Stephen Agardy; two brothers: Paul and Timothy Shepherd; and his former spouse, Jean Shepherd. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Shepherd; and one sister, Brenda Frye. Mr. Shepherd selflessly served in the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from LTV Steel Company as a LMF operator. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 South Cline Ave., Schererville, IN 46375).
