Donald E Devine

Donald E. Devine, age 87, of Crown Point, IN, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2018 at William J. Riley Hospice with loving family at his side. Donald was born June 8, 1930 in Muhlenburg County, Kentucky to the late Herbert and Addie (Dukes) Devine. Also preceding him in death is his loving son, Dennis Devine; siblings, Crafton Devine, Burnis Devine, Leona Mercer, Loutrecia Bivins; and daughter-in-law, Janet Devine. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 70 years, Billie Jane Devine; children, David (Aleta), Thomas (Leslie), Martin (Brenda), Herb (Rhonda), Rob (Anne), Will (Lori),and Donna Jane Devine; 28 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren; brother, William (Diane) Devine; and many nieces and nephews. Don was a carpenter, general contractor, and owner of Don Devine & Sons General Contracting, with the help of his family for over 30 years. He served as a deacon of Lakeside Baptist Church in Cedar Lake and was a faithful member of Lake Hills Baptist Church of Schererville. Donald was honored and respected by his family and all who knew him as a hard working and consistent man of God who carried his load well. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave. Crown Point, Indiana 46307), and again at 9:30 am until the time of his funeral at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Lake Hills Baptist Church (9209 West 85th Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375). Private burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
