Dorothy Holmes, age 83 of Merrillville, Indiana passed away on January 27, 2017. Dorothy was born in Cairo, Ohio to Voit and Grace Lackey on March 21, 1933. She is survived by three daughters Kay (Chip) Roberts of Richardson, TX, Ellen (Tom) Lytle of Canton, TX and Marie (Tim) Arsini of Crown Point, IN; Four grandchildren, John Lytle of Dallas, TX and Shelley Lytle of Richardson, TX; Toby Stockler and Lynell Stockler of Sacremento, CA , sister, Janet (Irv) Best and brother, Ronald (Ruanna) Lackey of Cairo, OH. Preceeded in death by husbands John Stockler and Robert Holmes and sons David, Dana and Ben Stockler, brother, Bill Lackey and sister, Eileen Lackey. Dorothy was born in Cairo, Ohio and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Merrillville. She was retired from Tepe’s and had worked as a secretary at First Presbyterian Church. Dorothy loved to cook, travel and spend time with her family. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 18 from 10:00 to 11:00 followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375).
