Douglas Brian Atchley

He is survived by his children, Amanda (Don) Grutzius, Bryan (Amanda) Conner, Sara (Brad) Thys, Megan Atchley and Elizabeth Atchley; grandson, John Conner; brother, Rick Atchley; former wife and friend, Milka (Joe) Ladendorf; uncle, Gary Jackson; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Doug was born June 26, 1962 in Gary, IN to the late Robert Lee and Gladys Marie Atchley and attended River Forest High School in Lake Station, IN. He was a volunteer fire fighter with the Lake Hills Fire Department as well dedicating many years of service to T & M Tire and currently employed with the Town of Schererville as a crew leader. Doug was known for his kindness, generosity and loyalty to all of his friends. With his free spirit he enjoyed riding his Harley and hanging out with his friends.

Doug was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) officiated by the family.

Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart, IN.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
