Ellen Marie Tipton age 70, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, June 19, 2020.
She was born August 4, 1949 to the late Richard and Medley Cook in Cottage Grove, Oregon and was a graduate of Washington High School in Chicago, IL. On July 1, 1967, she married the love of her life, Claude A. Tipton and together they shared 53 years.
Ellen enjoyed people, appreciated everyone and loved to travel to see her children and grandchildren. She dedicated her life to her husband and children and spent her life pouring love and affection into her four grandchildren. Ellen was a loyal and loving friend to many and will sadly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Above anything else, she loved her Lord Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary (late Otto) Farley.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Claude A. Tipton; children, Rachelle (Joe) Tipton-Smith and Troy (Tracy) Tipton; grandchildren, Justin and Jared Smith, Sydney and Sawyer Tipton; sisters, Joyce (late Bob) Westervelt, Veanna (Layton) Fletcher and Hazel (Mike) Marsh; brother, James (Carol) Cook and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Pastor David Atkinson officiating.
Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Dyer Baptist Church 735 213th Street Dyer, IN 46311.
