Elva Torres Morales

ELVA MORALES HAMMOND, IN , age 83, of Hammond, IN went to be with the Lord and her beloved daughter Marilyn, on October 9, 2014 at William Riley House Hospice of Munster. Mrs. Morales was born August 8, 1931 in Sabinas Hidalgo, Mexico to the late Jose and Delfina (Gonzalez) Torres. Also preceding her in death are five brothers and one sister. On May 24, 1952 she married her husband Raul Morales, who survives, also her son Raul Jr. (Pat) Morales, and daughter Lisa Morales. Also surviving are grandchildren, her oldest grandchild and best friend, Jasmine Fox, Gina Borgetti, Anthony Borgetti, Christopher Morales, Victoria (Josh) Little, Melissa Morales; great grandchildren: Alijah and Hunter; and a special nephew Juan (Annabelle) Mireles. She was a loving and devoted homemaker and caregiver to many generations of her family. Nurturing came naturally to her, and comforting others. She showed her love to others through her cooking. Elva was famous for her tacos, enchiladas, and potato salad. For Elva food was love. Visitation will be Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave; Schererville, IN 46375). Funeral services will be Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
