Erica "Zaya" Lynn Schoenrock

Erica was born June 18, 1992 in Kankakee, Illinois. She is survived by her parents, Sheila and Van Stricklin; siblings, Jessica (Craig) Butcher, Stephanie (Andrew) Hurley, Steven Stricklin, Trisha Stricklin, and Joseph Stricklin; niece, Alliana Erica; nephews, Sonny, Baby Drew, Jace, and Shane; maternal grandparents, Rita (Arthur) Cain and Gerald Lundin; paternal grandparents, Van Stricklin Sr. and Myrna Williamson; maternal great grandmother, Vera Schmidt; many aunts and uncles and cousins.

Preceding her in death is her Grandpa Bill, and her Grandma Loudermilk.

After her diagnosis at age 16, she decided to live her life to the fullest, in spite of her hospitalizations. She was always laughing the loudest, and appreciated all of her good and fun times. Zaya loved her family, and had an inseparable bond with so many.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 27th from 2-6 pm, with a memorial service at 6 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375) with Rev. Doug Klukken officiating. The family will also be celebrating Zaya's life on June 25th at Soldier Field to support the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, Walk for Kidneys and others are encouraged to particiapate.
