Gayle Irene Marcus

She was born in New Castle, PA on May 9, 1927, daughter of late William Hammond and Mildred Sickles. She is survived by her three children, Dennis Marcus, Dianne Lyle, and Donald Marcus, seven grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. She loved her family as they were the most important part of her life.

Gayle graduated from Hammond Technical Vocational School in 1945 and later was a hair dresser, active member with local schools in the community, and member of Saint James Parrish. As an active member of Saint James Parrish, she enjoyed assisting in the church festivals and participating in baking events.

Gayle was a devoted wife for 43 years to Nicholas Marcus Jr. who passed away in 1989. She enjoyed sewing, was an avid crocheter, and loved playing the organ.

A memorial service is scheduled for 6:00 pm on Friday, August 6th at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home in Crown Point, IN.
