Harry E. Edwards

Harry Edwards, age 90, died peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ruth L. Edwards; children: Hank (Carolyn) Edwards, Tom (Regina) Edwards and Doug (Darlene) Edwards; grandchildren: Julie (Tushar) Shah, Kerry (Holly) Edwards, Jeff (Nicole) Edwards, Meredith Edwards, Cheryl (Frank) Schembari, Kristi (Jason) Volles and Cyndi (Brian) Bonomo; great grandchildren: Ajay, Aric and Krina Shah, Chase Edwards and Tyler Volles. He was also uncle to Nancy Hardesty and Steve Arndt. Harry proudly served his country in the Army Aircorps, during WWII. Being an early resident of Dyer, he was involved in development of the Dyer Little League fields. He was active in the Dyer Lions Club and Boy Scouts and was always busy with his sons' activities. Harry spent 35 years as a construction Superintendent with Rueth Construction and is responsible for many buildings being enjoyed today. Harry was also an active member of First United Methodist Church of Munster. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN with Pastor Steve Conger officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
