

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (“Carrie”); two sons, Scott (Missy) and Rob; a daughter, Kirsten; two beloved granddaughters, Bette and Lola; and a brother, John (Margaret). He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh M. “Scotty” Brooks, and his mother, Anne M. Brooks (née Domansky).
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, with a Memorial beginning at 1:00 PM and Internment at 2:00 PM, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Visitation will take place on Friday, September, 13, 2024, between 4:00 and 8:00 PM, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
A graduate of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Mr. Brooks was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a passionate and dedicated coach to many, not only on the baseball field and basketball court, but in life, itself. An avid motorcycle enthusiast and expert rider, he spent many years working in the motorcycle industry, including as co-owner and general manager of Service Honda in Hammond, IN, before retiring as an employee of Dawn Foods in Jackson, MI. Mr. Brooks was also a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Parkinson’s Foundation.
