James is survived by his daughter, Jordynn DeYoung (Phil Fields); his mother, Betty DeYoung; his brother, Paul DeYoung (Janice Farley); his sister, Caryn Fitch (John); his grandson, Owen Fields; and Jim's beloved fiancé, Kimberley Leslie; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
James was preceded in death by his father, John DeYoung.
Jim loved life, his friends and family. He never met a stranger, and will be missed by all.
A Public Visitation for James will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.
