James "Bayboy" Sherrod

James was born November 13, 1934 to the late P.D. and Foda (Muse) Sherrod. Also preceding him in death are his siblings, Marzella White, Joe Sherrod, Roosevelt Sherrod, P.D. Sherrod Jr, and Mary Stewart.

Left to cherish his memory are his former Spouse Cora Sherrod; children, Katinna (Wali) Ahmed of GA, Ethel (Mark) Lowe of IN, and Wesley (Kimberly) Sherrod of IN; grandchildren, Jamie, Khalilah, Demetrios, Mena, Denisha, Mya, and Sydney; 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; siblings, Jesse Sherrod, Dorothy Chambliss, Johnnie Sherrod, Terry Thompson, LeCluster Sherrod, Dr. Jessie Sherrod, and Carolyn Tillis, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Sherrod retired as an Electrician from DuPont for over 30 plus years of service. He honorably served in the United States Army. He was affectionately known as “Bay Boy” to his family and close friends. Bay Boy was an avid Bowler, bowling in ABC and various leagues in the area. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially while playing cards or Dominos.

Visitation will be Monday, November 30, 2015 from 10 am -11 am, with funeral services to follow at 11 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S.
