

Joan C. Ludders, 80, of Oviedo FL, passed away Monday, September 23, 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Karyn (John) Hayduk of Oviedo, FL; and her son, Mark Ludders of Boaz, AL. She has two surviving sisters: Nancy Rios of Bradenton, FL and Leila Muller of Dyer, IN; along with many nieces and nephews. She has two adoring grandchildren: John and Lauren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ludders; father, Joseph Pinkerton; and mother, Floy Pinkerton (nee Coombs). Joan moved to Florida 10 years ago from Munster, IN to be with her family but will be greatly missed by many friends and family in Indiana and Florida. Joan had been a member of Pine Street Presbyterian Church in Hammond where she was a choir director, Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Leader, member of the woman’s group and Bible study groups. She was a wonderful bridge player and a member of League of Woman Voters. Everyone who met her knew immediately that she was such a caring and loving person who was known for her hugs. She truly showed the light of Christ in her life. One of her favorite passages of scripture was Lamentations 3:22 and 23; “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness.” Joan will be greatly missed, but we all look forward to seeing her in heaven. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN). Lunch will follow at Tiebel’s Restaurant in Schererville.
