John A Pallay

John Pallay, age 68, of Cedar Lake, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Mary Anne Bretz-Pallay with whom he just celebrated 45 years of marriage; loving father of Deborah (Scott) Kelly; best buddy to grandson Brendan Kelly; cherished brother of Fred (Donna) Reeder, George (Robin) Reeder; brother-in-law and uncle to many. Preceded in death by his mother, Luella Reeder and father, George Reeder; brother, Michael Pallay and nephew, James Reeder. John considered many as extended family, in particular Jimmy and Jodi Ferro and Charlie and Jeff Kors. John was born in Chicago, IL on March 25, 1944. He was a graduate of Homewood Flossmoor High School, Class of 1962. John served in the US army in Vietnam from 1965-1967. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs and fellow vets he served with. John was an avid baker and music enthusiast. He was a retired welder from his own company, Stress Welding Inc, Dyer, IN. Devoted to his family, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave, Schererville, IN) Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his family.
